Enhanced Family Tree, v2.10, a program that appeared on a
'Big Blue Disk', did not have a GEDCOM module, so I decided to
tackle it.
Rather than decipher the program's files, I require you to route
an individual-list report to disk. This 'print-image-file' is
what my program reads.
To get this report on disk, I suggest that you use PRN2FILE.COM,
a very popular public-domain program by PC Magazine. To use, do the
following:
PRN2FILE ENFT0 (print output will be re-directed to a file called ENFT0.)
FAMTREE (execute the Enhanced Family Tree program and print the
individual-list as usual.)
PRN2FILE (turn off print re-direction.)
ENFT (run my program, which will read ENFT0.
output will go to ENFT4.GED.)
ENFT.BAT uses the popular shareware program SORTF, by Vernon Buerg.
This will sort an intermediate output file produced by my program.
My program will produce files ENFT1, ENFT2, ENFT3 and ENFT4.FAM.
You can delete these after a successful run. If you have problems,
you might inspect any or all of these and let me know what you find.
Note: This version of ENFT2GED does not acquire marriage data, nor
comments, nor text. Maybe I'll do that in a future version.
I hereby release ENFT2GED into the public domain. There are restrictions
on PRN2FILE and SORTF. They cannot be sold for profit. PRN2FILE and
SORTF are handy programs, and have all kinds of uses, not just with
ENFT2GED.
